Christ and Fire

On September eleven much of the world remembers the suicidal burning of the Twin Towers in New York City. Many of us who watched on television, in horror, the fiery burning attack, will never forget the sullen moments spent in a daze and thoughts of the great death toll. While thousands got out and survived, several thousand died. We were reminded that fire means injury and death to the human body. The fire and smoke distinguished the stricken buildings.

First John Chapter Five

This is the chapter of victory through faith in Jesus Christ. The born-again person becomes a victor over the world, sin and the evil one. Faith in Jesus Christ, who is come in flesh, is central in our victory. Verse one confirms this: "everyone, who believes, that Jesus is the Christ out of ("ek" Gk. meaning out of) God, is begotten/born (born-again) of God's Holy Spirit.

First John Chapter Four

John again emphasizes godly love and brotherly love while affirming the deity of Jesus Christ who has come in human flesh. In verses two and three he strongly states that false prophets are teaching a lesser Christ than Jesus. These are antichrist spirits and are of Satan; therefore, the Christian must try/test the spirit in light of the truth of the revelation of Jesus as the Christ of God in human flesh.

First John Chapter Three

We begin chapter three with the reminder of the great love (agape) of God the Father for each one of His redeemed children. This amazing love brings us from sin's condemnation into a state of living under the power of God's Holy Spirit. Now the wonderful knowledge of His expression in our lives, as God's called/redeemed children, abides with us.

First John Chapter Two

First John Chapter Two by Howard Watson

Verses one and two speak of the Apostle John's love for the young Christians in faith: "My little children;" that they avoid sinning in their lives and that they rely upon their advocate(paraketos), our helper/intercessor, the Lord Jesus Christ, who cleanses them from sins of the past and the practice of sinning in their present lives.

First John Chapter One

First John chapter one; we are beginning our study at verse one. (KJV with Greek text compliment). "That which was from the beginning"; (what was from {the} beginning "arche": at creation as pre-existing, divine in character, "which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life." John here testifies to his personal experience of hearing, seeing and touching.

Christ Makes Things Good

Usually in life we are faced with negative, unpleasant people, troubling events and challenges of all sorts. Although many times we are happy and contented as we live, we cannot count on everything being just as we would order it. The Bible teaches we are dealing with the world of people about us, the fleshly nature of our physical being and the demonic works of Satan.

CHRIST AND ANTICHRIST

The Lord Jesus is Christ who has come in human form as a man born of Mary. He was totally a physical man in body, but he also was God's Son who became man. He is God in flesh. Scriptures tell us that Christ Jesus existed in the form of God... but that he emptied Himself and took the form of a bond servant and was made in the likeness of man and as a man he humbled Himself to the death of the cross (Phil. 2).

THE PERFECT MARRIAGE

Jesus is the Christ

Most people consider marriage as the ultimate human relationship. In marriage two persons of opposite sex join together to make a whole union. To their marriage they bring their total selves with hope and love for a family of children to be loved by both partners and the extended family, including the church family.
