Discover Prayer - 7 Be Persistent

Discover Prayer Part VII
Be Persistent

(SHARP): NAU Luke 18:1-8
Point of View: We forfeit many blessings by giving up.
Action Step: Never give up!
Benefit: You will receive more than you asked for in prayer.

Key Point 1: Divine Delays.

Subpoint 1.1: NAU 1 Peter 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, 7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Subpoint 1.2: NAU James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Subpoint 1.3: NAU Romans 5:3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;  5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Key Point 2: Satanic Interference.

Subpoint 2.1: NAU 1 Thessalonians 2:18 For we wanted to come to you-- I, Paul, more than once-- and yet Satan hindered us.

Subpoint 2.2: NAU Daniel 10:12 Then he said to me, "Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. 13 "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.

Subpoint 2.3: Sometimes our answers to prayer are sent but Satan tries to prevent us from receiving them.

Key Point 3: It is all about the journey.

Subpoint 1.1: NAU 1 Peter 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, 7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Subpoint 1.2: NAU James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
